About

In 1992, Gunter Hall was moved to its present location adjacent to W. H. Stanton Library on West Hightower Trail in the city of Social Circle.  Gunter Hall is used by the Historic Preservation Society as a museum, educational center, and for special events.

The Society has held two fund raising auctions. The auctions came at the time when the Society had to acquire and move Gunter Hall to save it from the wrecking ball.

Additional funds have been raised through annual Tours featuring historic properties in the city of Social Circle.

Other fund raising efforts have included bazaars and sales of promotional items such as Historic Society cookbooks, coffee mugs, and Christmas ornaments. A quarterly newsletter, news releases, publicity brochures and other promotional pieces are utilized to generate interest in the Society and its mission.
